This past weekend was my good friend Colleen's engagement party. She's getting married in the Florida Keys this fall and I'm super excited to be one of her bridesmaids. When I think of Colleen, I immediately think of margaritas. Last time we were in the Keys we enjoyed quite a few of these babies while relaxing poolside :)
So of course, these cookies were the obvious choice for party favors.
We had an awesome time at the party...and possibly also had a few too many cocktails (of the non-cookie variety)
Congrats Colleen and Brian, so excited for you guys and looking forward to all the other wedding festivities!

Music-Themed Birthday Cookies
These cookies were ordered for a birthday party for a musician. We stuck with a classic black and white theme and the sheet music actually plays the Happy Birthday song. Hopefully Dan enjoyed his birthday cookies!

Breast Cancer Cookies
Breast cancer is something that, unfortunately, affects us all in one way or another. Several women in my life have been through this struggle and I'm very thankful that they are all well on their way to recovery.
These cookies were ordered to cheer up a family member who was recently diagnosed. I hope that they brought a smile to her face!
The idea for these cookies came from this post by Baking in Heels. Thank you for the great inspiration!
I especially love the breast cancer slogans:
I love making cookies because of the joy that they bring to the recipient. Hopefully these cookies will help a special lady get through a tough time!

Exciting News and A Giveaway!
You may have noticed that things look a little different around here!
I was lucky enough to win a blog makeover by Eedee Design Studios and Erin did an awesome job redesigning my site! Hurray! I loved working with Erin and highly recommend her if you're looking for a design or logo.
Speaking of logos...I also have an exciting announcement.
"The Cookie Cutter" will soon be known as "Jaclyn's Cookies". I think that it better describes who we are and will hopefully make it easier for you to find us. We'll still have our web address at www.thecookiecutter.us, but soon you'll notice that you are redirected to a new address: JaclynsCookies.com.
I'm excited to make a change and would love to hear your feedback!
And because I was so thrilled to win a giveaway myself, I decided to spread the love and give you all something too! You can win some of my favorite cookie decorating tools, just in time for Valentine's Day!
Update: And the winner is...#12- Molly! Congratulations and happy decorating!

Baby Animal Cookies and Cake!
I also wanted to bring a cake to the shower, but I don't decorate them all that often, so I figured I would stick to what I know - cookies! I've seen a few cookie cakes around on the internet and I've been dying to give it a try. Here's what I came up with:
And a view of the front:
This was so much fun to do and was really easier than I thought it would be. If you're interested in giving this a try, here's a few tips.

Nautical Baby Cookies
These cookies were requested for a nautical themed baby shower. The customer wanted whales and anchors along with baby bottles and onesies. I kept everything in the nautical theme and also included a few sailboats.
