We're back!

Well, it was a busy summer at Jaclyn's Cookies this year, we just weren't baking any cookies!  My husband and I welcomed Genevieve Grace into our family on July 18, 2015.  Everyone is doing great, including her big brother who is completely infatuated with his baby sister.

We're going to start off slowly this fall with a couple of orders per week until we get into the swing of things.  My son Oliver just started preschool, so I'm hoping that gives me some time to work on orders!

We are currently accepting custom orders for October 5 and beyond.  You can request cookies using the custom request form on our website.

Pre-designed gift packages will be available in our Etsy shop beginning on October 5 as well.  We'll have a selection of new baby, birthday and thank you gifts, as well as some Halloween and Thanksgiving cookies.

Thank you all so much for your patience while we were on maternity leave and for your support over the years!  We're excited to be back in the kitchen!

Cookie Platter Pricing

We're now offering Cookie Platters!  Cookie platters are the perfect addition to any dessert table and are designed to be eaten at your party (as opposed to cookie favors for your guests to take home).

Cookie platters include a variety of cookie sizes, ranging from approximately 2" to 5", and include basic to elaborate designs (you provide the platter).  You just tell us the theme and color scheme, and we'll work with you to design a platter of cookies.

Cookie platters will be priced at a flat rate of $40 / dozen.  They'll be bagged and heat-sealed for freshness during shipment.  If you would like us to tie a satin ribbon on each bag, the cost is an additional $1.80 / dozen.

I based the price sheet on Sugarbelle's price chart that she posted a while back.  Below is a description of what I consider "Basic", "Detailed", and "Elaborate" designs as well as some sample pictures.

What's Included in a Design???
Basic	Typically uses 1-2 colors with limited to no piped details
Detailed	Typically uses 2-4 colors and includes some piped details
Elaborate	Typically uses 3+ colors, includes several piped details, and/or uses advanced techniques such as brush embroidery

Nautical Baby Cookie Package

Thanks to Pinterest, these nautical baby cookies are some of the most popular cookies that I've ever posted.  And I must admit, they're some of my favorites too!  I've been working on new gift packages for my website and I just HAD to include a version of those cookies.  Here they are:  a large gift package in a 10x14" box.  

You'll notice that all of the cookie gifts are photographed exactly as they'll arrive in their box. I've ordered lots of these cookie boxes from BRP box shop and can't wait to start using them!

I'm in the process of doing some shipping tests (my parents have received LOTS of cookies!) and I'm happy to say that there hasn't been a single broken cookie so far.  That means that each cookie will still be sealed in a clear cellophane bag, but that I won't need to wrap each cookie in bubble wrap anymore.  I'm excited that the customer will get to see their cookies as soon as they open their package without having to dig through a sea of bubble wrap!

New Baby Cookie Gift Packages

It seems that while I get ready for baby, part of my nesting habits have transferred to my website as well.  While I wait for baby to arrive, I'm trying to prepare as much as possible to reopen my business sometime in late Spring / early summer.  

I've already set up an LLC in the state of Virginia, and once I have a kitchen that's ready to be inspected, I'll finish applying for my business license in Albemarle County.  Of course, that means I need to move into my new house which hasn't happened yet!  In the mean time, I'm working on some new gift packages.

These are 2 new baby gift packages that will be available when I reopen.  They're small packages that include 5 cookies in a 7x10" box.

When I relaunch, I'm also planning to create an Etsy shop, so all of these packages will be for sale there as well as from my website .  If you sell on Etsy and have any advice, I'd love to hear it!

Fall cookies

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and is having fun getting ready for the holidays.  Here are a few new fall packages that I've been working on.  They'll be up on the website ready for Fall 2013 :)

I'm trying to keep all of my gift packages fairly simple to ensure I can do a high volume while keeping the prices low.  There will be a centerpiece cookie in each package which the purchaser can customize with any phrase they'd like.  I went with "thank you" or "thanks" for each of these examples.  All of the gift packages will come in a 7x10 (small) or 10x14 (large) box with a clear windowpane lid.

I think I might be boycotting Christmas cookies this year, so don't be surprised if you don't see any on the blog.  I'm going to take advantage of my time off this season to spend time with family and NOT stress over cookies!

New Mother's Day Cookies!

Cookies are the perfect gift for Mom for Mother's Day, so if you haven't picked up a gift yet, check out our new cookie packages up on the website!


These cookies were inspired by my favorite gift to give to my Mom - coupons for chores.  I liked them because they were easy to make (though not as easy to fulfill) and free, and my Mom liked them because she actually got some help around the house!  I know this is the gift that I would want if I were a Mom :)

We also have a new Mother's Day tea set for the tea-drinker in your life.  Our sugar cookies are perfect with a cup of tea, so what could be cuter than tea-themed cookies!

Mother's Day orders need to be in by May 5th if you need your cookies shipped.  If you'd like to pick them up in Gaithersburg, MD, orders will be accepted until May 8th.

Exciting News and A Giveaway!

Valentine's Day Cookies

Can you believe it's almost time for Valentine's day?  Now is the time to order cookies for your loved ones!  All orders need to be in by February 7th in order to guarantee delivery by the 14th.

Logo Cookies

Logo cookies are great for company holiday parties and they make the perfect thank you gifts for coworkers, clients, and teachers.  I guess that's why I've been making lots of them recently!

150 of these blue dog cookies were finished recently for a Blue Dog PAC holiday party:

These Insight Global cookies were ordered as client gifts:

Penguins and Reindeer and Bears, Oh my!

I love these little guys.  They were done using my KopyKake projector using some cute wrapping papers as inspiration.

Let it snow!

Thanksgiving is over and it's officially time for Christmas!  I've held off on Christmas cookies until now because I hate it when the stores start all of their Christmas hype in October.  There's nothing worse than going to Michael's 2 days before Halloween (to pick up things for a Halloween party) and finding everything replaced by Christmas stuff (true story, can you tell I'm bitter)! 

So anyway, enough ranting, here's the first sets of wintery (is that a word?) cookies.  All snow-themed!  There's a variety of snowflakes, hats, mittens, snowmen, and what my husband has officially deemed "snow heads".  More to come on the snow heads in a later post, but can you guess what cookie cutter was used for them in the mean time?  All packages are up on the website here, check them out!

Surfer Girl Cookies

Last night I had a very depressing realization that it was only 7:30 pm and it was completely dark outside. Between the shorter days and the fact that it's been 45 degrees and raining here in MD is really making me miss summer.  At least I can still pretend with these fun surfer cookies...

These were made for a girl's birthday party with a surfing theme.  I thought they came out really cute and they're the perfect cure for the end of summer blues!

The color scheme for this party was super fun and it inspired me to create a couple of new summer packages on the website.  These are now available for purchase, along with the surfboards!
