Pink and Gray Baby Shower Favors
These onesie and rattle cookies were made as favors for a baby shower. I loved working with the pink and gray color scheme. So cute for a baby girl!

Move Update Part 3
I think it's about time for another move update! The house progress is coming along very quickly. Our settlement date is Jan 31, which is about a month ahead of schedule! Go Ryan Homes!
We still have our temporary apartment for a couple more months, so we'll take advantage of that time to paint / put up molding / etc before we move our furniture into the house. Our official move in date is Feb 9, hopefully plenty of time before our baby arrives!
Here's our kitchen in the first week of January after the cabinets were installed:
And the progress as of a few days ago (sorry for the dark picture):
The kitchen countertops are in, electric and plumbing are done, appliances are starting to be installed, and there's hardwood floors hiding underneath that cardboard! I'm picturing some cookie sheet storage in those big cabinets above the microwave just like Lizy B Bakes showed here!
Last but not least, here's a sneak peak into the future "cookie kitchen." These are the double french doors in the basement that will someday lead to a commercial kitchen. The white plastic will be staying up on the doors until this no longer looks like an ugly storage area :)
So, when will I be open for business again? Most of February will be spent moving in and getting things ready before baby arrives. After baby S does make his appearance, I think we'll just have to wait and see how things go. I'm hoping that May/June 2013 I'll be ready to start taking a limited number of orders, but I will keep you posted!

Big Brother / Big Sister Cookie Packages
Since I have babies on the brain lately, I thought I'd channel some of that baby fever into some new cookie packages!
These packages are designed for older siblings who recently welcomed a new baby brother or sister. We certainly wouldn't want them to feel left out after all!
Big brother / little brother:
Big sister / little sister:
Multiple older siblings (different genders):
Of course, the colors can be customized for any of the packages to accommodate different brother / sister scenarios!

It's a Boy!
I have a confession to make: I've been holding out on you. There's something I've been meaning to tell you and I swear I didn't mean to wait this long. But here goes:
My husband and I are expecting a baby boy on March 4 this year! I can't believe it's only 7 weeks away. How does time go so quickly?!
Happily, I've had a very easy pregnancy and have been feeling good. But between moving, planning for the new baby, and building a new home, I haven't had much time leftover for baking cookies or updating this poor lonely blog!
I'm still hoping to have my Virginia business license by mid-2013 and will reopen for business at that time. The number of orders I take will just depend on how cooperative baby S is!
As you can imagine, I've been a bit baby obsessed lately, particularly when it comes to decorating the nursery. Since I can't actually decorate a room yet (we move in the first week of February), I've been stockpiling baby gear in our temporary apartment like nobody's business. One of the first things my husband and I found was this cute animal print for the crib bedding. Once we found that, the rest of the nursery kind of fell into place. My mother-in-law is making the crib bedding for us which is AMAZING and I can't wait to see it. I'll be sure to post a picture of the nursery when it's completed!
At our baby shower recently, my Mom surprised me with this beautiful quilt that she made using all of our fabrics. It's so gorgeous, I just had to share a picture of it. Gotta love having talented women in your life!
Of course, I couldn't resist turning some of the animals into cookies for my announcement :)
Please continue to bear with me over the next several months as my husband and I get settled into our new home with our new baby. I do have some cute cookies cookies coming up to share with you, so I promise I won't be completely absent :)
