Oops!

Don't you hate it when you're so close to finishing a project and you screw it up at the last second?  Here's why you shouldn't pick up a cookie immediately after you decorate it:

Doh!  My finger slipped and went right through the icing.

Royal icing takes at least 8 hours to harden, and I usually let them sit for 24 hours before I package them up.  From now on, I will be leaving my decorated cookies alone for several hours before I try to move them!

Easter Cookies!

Easter cookies are now available!  These colorful cookies would be perfect for a neighborhood Easter egg hunt, your child's Easter basket, or to brighten up the dessert table at Easter dinner :)

Here's a preview of some of my favorites.  My husband came up with the name "All cracked up" for this package.  Love it!

St. Martin's School Auction

Recently I was very excited to participate in a school auction to benefit St. Martin of Tour's Catholic School in Gaithersburg, MD.  This year, the kindergarten class put together a basket full of cooking and baking related items.  I was more than happy to contribute a few cookies for the basket as well as a coupon for more cookies.

Check out this awesome collection of stuff that the kindergarten class collected:

Love those Christmas plates and matching cookie cutters!  My cookies are attached to the front of the basket.  Here's a close up:

I had lots of fun making these cookies.  Hopefully the lucky winner of the auction enjoyed them!
