Disney Princess Tea Party!

princess tea party

For her princess tea party, the birthday girl requested tea pots and cups, princess dresses, and Frozen snowflakes.  She specifically wanted:  purple for Sophia, blue for Elsa, green/blue for Ariel, yellow for Belle, pink for Aurora, and Snow White.  So, here they are!

Disney princess cookies

I couldn't make Disney princess cookies without including Cinderella, so I threw one of those in too :)

Love that shine on Elsa's dress!

Happy 6th birthday, Quynh-Chi!  I hope you had a great day!

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Baby Shower Cookies

These were super sparkly cookies for a Twinkle Twinkle Little Star baby shower.

Star and Moon Cookies

The moon cookies had a subtle shine from pearl color mist spray.  The stars used both American Gold (darker gold color) and Hologram Gold (brighter, more colorful gold) disco dust.

Needless to say my kitchen was sparkling for a long time after this order!

Video Game Cookies

video game cookies

These cookies were favors for a video game-themed bar mitzvah.  They were all of my fave characters:  Pac-Man, Mario and Angry Birds along with Wii and Xbox controllers.

Here's some close-ups. Sorry for the crummy pictures, I took these at night.  :(

I had fun with some edible markers on these Mario cookies:

Big thanks to Sweet Sugarbelle for her Angry Birds tutorials.  It definitely made these cookies easier!

Sesame Street Cookies Part 2

Sesame Street Cookies

Yay!  I got to make more Sesame Street Cookies!

This time it was Cookie Monster, Big Bird, Grover, Zoe, Abby, and Elmo for a 2 year old birthday party.  To see the other Sesame street cookies check out this post.

Sesame Street Character cookies

The newer characters like Zoe and Abby (oh Abby) are so much more complicated than the older ones.  I'm blaming computers for that one.

I attempted to capture Abby's crazy hair by swirling pink and purple icing, letting it dry, and then piping purple on top for texture.  Top that off with some yellow flower barrettes and she was finished.  I think she turned out OK.  I'll still do 100 Cookie Monsters over Abby Cadabby though!

I was way more happy with my Sesame Street sign this time.

I used slightly thicker icing along with my dehydrator, so no annoying icing cave ins.  It ALWAYS makes my day when I come down in the morning and find out my icing didn't crater :)

Science Cookies

science birthday party cookies

How fun are these colors for a science-themed 7th birthday party?!  I loved the atoms, test tubes and flasks that the birthday girl requested.

science graduation cookies

I also recently created these science-themed cookies for a PhD graduation party.  More test tubes and flasks, as well as beakers.  The customer also requested some periodic table elements, which I LOVED!

Here's a few of the elements, in (very) loose periodic table order:

As a former scientist, I always get a kick out of making science cookies :)

Travel-Themed Gift

travel cookies

I recently received a request for a custom thank you gift for a travel agent.  The agent helped my customer plan a trip to the Grand Canyon and she wanted to send a thank gift for planning their fabulous vacation.

travel-themed cookies

There were a lots of "firsts" for me in this package.  Believe it or not, it's the first time I've actually used my airplane cutter.  Also the first time I've done a globe, stacked suitcases, US Passports, and a hand-cut United States cookie!

Here they are all boxed up for shipment.  They're also available for sale on my Etsy page!

Caps for CAP

I made these police cap and captains hat cookies a while back for a fella named Cap :)

I'm pretty sure it was his birthday, but really I don't even remember anymore.

I DO remember those teeny little logos though!  That was a challenge to capture the Montgomery Co Police logo on a tiny little hat :)

Lacrosse Logos

Meet the Dickinson Lacrosse Red Devil.

These logo cookies were no joke, and I did 100 of them a while back.  Let's just say my hand needed a couple days off after this order ;)

Luckily I really like how these bad boys turned out, and the Dickinson Lacrosse team did too!  I'm looking forward to doing them again next year :)

Bird-Themed First Birthday

bird-themed first birthday

I was going through old cookie pictures and found this one in the archives.  I loved these little bird cookies!

Fiona's Mom sent me this picture of the favor tags and wanted similar cookies to match:

I love having adorable inspiration to work with!

Nautical Wedding Shower Cookie Favors

OK!  Last nautical cookies this year, I promise.

These were cookie favors that I did for a bridal shower on Long Island this summer.  I loved the crisp navy and white color scheme with pops of hot pink.

This is definitely one of those times that the photo doesn't live up to how beautiful the cookies were :(  I really need to leave myself more photography time!

Nautical Baby Shower Cookies

Ack!  Summer is almost over and I still have more nautical cookies to show you!!!

Forgive me, I think there's one more nautical post after this one, but these are TOO adorable to wait until next summer.

crab and whale baby cookies

These are a seriously fun set of cookies.  I hope I get to do them again.  Puhleeeease someone order them...wink wink ;)

Elegant Bridal Shower cookies

elegant bridal shower cookies

I loved this platter of champagne, gold, black, and red bridal shower cookies for Jillian and Steve.

The shower vibe was very glamorous, with lots of ivory and metallic gold with red accents.  The bridesmaids' dresses were champagne with black lace details, which made for beautiful cookie designs.  And they were serving champagne with red sugared rims, so that was easy to cookify :)

I also did heart and wedding cake favors for the guests to take home.

Congratulations Jillian and Steve!

Sports-themed baby cookies

These twin lion cookies were made to celebrate my new twin cousins!  The cookies were designed based on their dad's super cute book "Declan Grows Up".

Welcome to the world Chase and Pierce!

Sesame Street Cookies

sesame street cookies

When a friend asked me to make Sesame Street cookies for her daughter, Walker's, first birthday party, I was thrilled!

Character cookies can be a little bit scary, but once I got started I knew these guys were going to be a lot of fun.  I love how they turned out!

Sesame Street cookie favors

And of course, the birthday girl needed a cookie of her own - "Walker Street"!

Sesame street sign cookie

I love when I actually get to attend the party with my cookies, and I'm happy to report that the kiddos went nuts over these cookies!  It was so much fun to see them enjoy their special treats.

Thanks for letting me be a part of Walker's big day, Allison!

Nautical baby cookies

This has certainly been the summer of Nautical for me!  Here's a few different nautical-themed baby cookies that I've worked on recently.

nautical cookie platter

I loved this variety of nautical cookies and the lighthouse centerpiece cookie that I did for Erin's shower.

nautical first birthday cookies

Hendricks' cookies were actually for his first birthday party and were made to match his invitation.  Love that fun color scheme!

sailboat with baby cookies

These sailboat cookies were favors for a baby boy shower.

nautical baby cookies

This was a nautical-themed baby gift for baby Beckett's family (I added the ropes for the anchors after I took the picture).  Almost forgot - oops!

There were lots more that I didn't photograph.  Nautical is definitely my most popular cookie request!

I also did some nautical bridal shower cookies that I'll hopefully post soon :)

Home is Where the Heart Is

I'd like to give a quick shout out to all of my new Charlottesville customers!  I really appreciate your support and love that my local client base is quickly growing.

These Virginia cookies were made for a local c'ville business to use as favors at their Christmas party (yes, I have lots of catching up to do!).  Of course, the hearts mark our lovely little town of Charlottesville!

Will you be my bridesmaid?

A bride ordered several gift boxes with these cookies to give to her bridesmaids and maid of honor.  I think it's such a sweet way to ask your friends to be a part of your wedding!

Her wedding colors will be navy and pink, and her flowers will be daisies, so we incorporated those elements in the designs.

Wedding Cookie Favors

personalized wedding cookie favors

I was looking through my photos and can't believe I never posted these!

These were wedding favors that I did way back in August of 2013.  They were created to match the invitation and I just loved the way that border looked!

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Ok, don't get mad but I kind of lied in that title up there.  I don't have any planes...but I do have trains and automobiles to show you!

These were two different train cookie orders that I did:

Train cookies

Train cookie favors.

Train cookie gift

And a train themed birthday gift.  Two year olds must really like trains :)

And these were some antique car cookies that I did a looong time ago.  Like last October.  They were modeled after a 1930's Packard and were created for a car lover's birthday.
